For items borrowed from another library, the loan period and any restrictions on using the item are determined by the lending library.

Most items have at least a four week loan period, though some may have more or less depending on the lending library and the material format.  Due dates are listed on the label on your item.

Additionally, the lending library determines if renewals are allowed. Interlibrary Loan honors all rules established by the lending library.

Restrictions may include:

  • Some materials may be restricted to use only within Newman Library.
  • Some materials may have restrictions against photocopying.
  • Items obtained through Interlibrary Loan may not be put on Virginia Tech Library Reserve.
